The Finance Department serves both individual citizens and other city departments while protecting the financial interests of the citizens as a whole. The functional responsibilities of this office are diverse and broad in scope. Primary responsibilities include the treasury functions of the city (bonding of debt, investment of public funds and budget management), accounting and financial reporting for all city departments and funds, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, collection functions and utility office operations.
